The US Air Force Base in New Boston, NH just dug up and threw away their heating oil tanks and installed a geothermal system. They anticipate saving $21,000 a year with this change. Not only that, the civil engineer at the base said it’s a boon in other ways, “from decreasing maintenance costs to creating a safer environment and improving security at the station.”
